Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about our poker tournaments...

What's included in my fee? Included is your starting chips (see below). Plus a 6 foot sub and chips for all players. And we have a waitress coming around our tables with complimentary draft beer and soda for all players (you're encouraged to tip!).
Why should I play in the Club Sport tournament? It's a bit more relaxed, the players are fun, and you're likely to run into fellow Club Sport players. It's a great time!
Starting Chip Stacks & blinds? 3000 Units and blinds are usually 20 minutes with scheduled breaks.
How many people win cash? Typically the top 10% of players (rounded up). 31-40 players means top 4, 41-50 means top 5, etc. Plus the top finisher wins a great glass trophy and everyone at the final table gets a cool prize.
Is making the FINAL TABLE a big deal? Of course it is!! Everyone at the Final Table gets a custom Club Sport Poker Chip. Collect these chips and trade in for future discounts. (1 chip = $5 off, 3 chips = $20 off, 6 chips = FREE TOURNAMENT).
How does the “second chance” tournament work? The first 10 players knocked out of the main tournament that wish to play in a $45 buy in one table tournament can sign up when they get knocked out and pay once 10 people are signed up and ready to play!
Is this a good tournament for beginners and those learning to play the game? Yes, while the tournaments are dealt by Derby Lane dealers and follow strict tournament rules, it is a little more friendly and players are encouraged to ask the dealers during play if they do not understand something. Your fellow players are likely to help you out with etiquette and issues. If you are very worried, arrive early and let us know and we'll give you a little tutorial.
How do I get on the “Hall of Fame” poker list? Anyone with combined TBCS career tournament winnings over $500 will make the list (posted on line).
How does the referral bonus work? If you refer someone who pays to play in our tournament who has not played in our tournaments before you will get a $5 credit for each one! Just have them mention you when they sign up!
When does my credit card get charged? Cards are chared when you register online for the tournament.
What happens if I am late or do not show up? Your chips are put in your seat and you will be blinded in until you show up. There are no refunds.
Can I bet/watch the dog races during/after tournament? Of course, there are full windows of races while the tournament is played and pari-mutuels live on TV, plus kiosks to place your own bets! It's a blast.
How often do you have tournaments? Typically every 6-7 weeks (7-9 a year), check out the schedule for the year and plan accordingly!
